I don’t always read instructions and running with scissors should be an Olympic sport.
I love sewing, quilting, photography, mosaic and paper crafts, jewelry making, crochet and knitting. And anything else that looks fun and creative.
I started sewing for my Barbies when I was a small girl and in junior high took a home economics class where I made my first hand-stitched buttonhole and a corduroy jumper for my youngest sister. During my teenage years I became interested in needlepoint, cross-stitch, photography, drawing and painting. By the time I started college, where I studied fine art, I realized I couldn’t make a living as an artist and became a graphic designer.
My inspiration comes from everywhere and for my family. I currently have 16+ nieces and nephews that I make gifts for every year. I try to keep things simple and personal, but not too costly. I like to figure things out for myself. When something strikes my fancy, I see if I can make and, at the same time, make it my own.
Since I like to do so many things, I have a lot of tools. For sewing and quilting I use a Husquvana Viking Designer SE, Husquvana Viking Sapphire 875 Quilt and Huskylock 910 serger. My camera is a Nikon D7000 with a Nikkor 18-200mm lens. For my paper crafts I use a Cricut, various hand punches and rubber stamps. I also have mosaic tools that include a tile saw and glass grinder.
I’m excited to share what I do and hope to inspire you to try something new, or just buy my stuff.
